OUR Code of Ethics and Conduct

The Vista Caballo Code of Ethics and Conduct is one of the ways we walk our talk and values of truth, love and courage. Everything we do in connection with our work at Vista Caballo is done with the highest possible standards of ethical conduct in mind. Our commitment to the highest standards helps us hire great people, build great products, and attract loyal clients. Respect for our clients, for the opportunity of doing this great work, and for each other, are foundational to our success and are something we support and give our attention to every day. If we find ourselves in a quandary in meeting any of these codes, we reach for truth, love and courage to keep us on the path of right action.

We expect all team members to follow our code and reach out to our founders with any questions they may have at any time. As a client or supplier, if you feel any part of this code has been breached or could be improved upon, please let us know.

1. INTEGRITY:

Our reputation is being a company everyone can trust. It is up to all of us to make sure that we continually earn that trust. We use our communications and other interactions with our clients, between team members, and with our suppliers to increase trust. Our core value is truth. We encourage everyone to speak their truth. We’ve found this builds safe environments where everyone can be their authentic selves which builds trust. Honoring and respecting each other’s dignity and uniqueness is important to us.Privacy is another way to build trust. Maintaining privacy is important to us. Here’s how we do that.

2. BENEFIT:

Our products and services bring benefits to people and our planet. We encourage our team members and suppliers to ask if what we are creating provides benefit with harm to none. Zero waste is our lens. That includes our time and energy.

3. RESPONSIVENESS:

One of our leading standards of excellence is being responsive. We recognize relevant feedback when we see it, and we do something about it. Responding to communications from our clients, team members and suppliers, whether questions, problems, or compliments is one of our standards of excellence. If something is not working, we address it. If anyone is feeling underserved, we encourage them to speak up. We are listening.

4. SELF-CARE AND WELLBEING:

We recognize self-care as the foundation to wellbeing which is our raison d’etre. We encourage all team members to make self-care and wellbeing a priority and to build teams for and with us that promote and encourage both as the central hub from which we operate. We extend wellbeing to all living creatures including animal welfare, starting with our own animals. It is so important to us it is included in our client agreements for what is expected at the ranch. A breach of conduct around this is a sure way to be asked to leave property. We are staunch supporters of The American Wild Horse Campaign .

5. KINDNESS, RESPECT AND ATTENTION:

We extend kindness and respect in every moment – to ourselves and each other. This kindness and respect extends to attention to detail in our work, our communication to each other, as well as attention to ourselves and each other.

6. BE MINDFUL ABOUT BEING LAWFUL:

We take our responsibilities to comply with laws and regulations seriously and each of us is expected to comply with applicable legal requirements. We ask that if you have any questions around any legal considerations, please ask us. Similarly if you feel a legal issue needs to be brought to our attention, don’t hesitate to do so. At the end of the day if you are not sure what to do, do the right thing.

7. TEAMWORK:

Our motto is Teamwork Makes The Dream Work. We extend ourselves to each other knowing that there are no lines separating us. If someone needs help, we help without hesitation. This is what makes our teamwork dreamy. Another way we keep our team dreamy is knowing that our differences can make us an intelligent force for good. Diversity brings in new ideas and experiences. Bringing in different ideas and perspectives leads to better problem-solving. Working in diverse teams opens dialogue and promotes creativity. As ecosystems evolve in nature, they become more diverse. This diversity creates more resources (not less) in a system. This is because diverse plants and species need different nutrients to thrive, and they each generate abundant resources that they can share. We subscribe to this law of nature, among others.
